Heat Pumps and the Warmer Kiwi Homes Grant in New Plymouth

The Warmer Kiwi Homes grant covers 80% of the cost of a heat pump, up to a set cap, for eligible owner-occupied homes built before 2008. You apply through EECA, not through us. Once you're approved, we handle the supply and install here in New Plymouth.

How the Warmer Kiwi Homes grant actually works

The grant is run by EECA, the government's energy efficiency agency. They approve you, not us. We're not an EECA-registered provider, so we can't administer the grant or apply on your behalf. What we can do is fit the heat pump once you've been approved and understand the process well enough to point you in the right direction.

In short: you check your eligibility and apply with EECA first. If you're approved, you organise an installer for the heater and the grant covers most of the bill. We're happy to give you a straight heat pump installation cost before you commit, so you know exactly what the numbers look like.

Why funded heating is a real win in older Taranaki homes

Taranaki winters are damp and humid, and that moisture soaks into cold, under-heated homes. A lot of the pre-2008 weatherboard bungalows around Marfell, Moturoa, Waitara, Inglewood and Hawera are single-glazed and light on insulation.
